Your Microsoft 365, as actions the copilot can take.
Work the Outlook mailbox
Messages are searched by free text or listed newest-first from a named folder, with each folder's unread count alongside it. Reply, reply-all, forward, draft, move between folders, and setting read state, flag or importance all address the same message.
Read the calendar as it will actually happen
The calendar view expands recurring series across a time window, so a busy fortnight comes back as real occurrences rather than series masters. Graph can also suggest meeting times for a set of attendees and return free/busy for a group of people.
Reach files in OneDrive and SharePoint
A file is found by search, by listing a folder, or straight by its drive path, in a personal OneDrive or a site's document library. OneDrive items can also be moved, renamed, copied or deleted, and on either surface a folder is created or a sharing link minted when someone else needs access.
Treat Excel and SharePoint lists as data
An A1 range or a worksheet's whole used area is read, values written back, a table created over a range and rows appended to it, with font, fill, frozen panes and charts applied on top. SharePoint lists work the same way, with the column definitions read first so writes use the internal names.
Follow Teams channels and chats
The teams a person belongs to, their channels, and recent channel messages with their reply threads can all be read. New messages and threaded replies are posted to a channel, and one-to-one or group chats read and replied to.
M365 Copilot arrives with these.
Written in plain language, not configuration — change a sentence and the behaviour changes with it.
Outbound waits for a yes
Mail, invites and Teams posts are shown as drafts first and go out only once you confirm.
No double-booking
The calendar window is read before anything is booked, and alternatives are proposed instead of a clash.
Grounded summaries
Every summary names the exact messages and files it came from.
Workbook care
Excel writes touch only the named cells, and a range is read before it is overwritten.
The right file store
Personal files are looked for in OneDrive and team files in SharePoint, then read according to their file type.
It reads your Microsoft 365 data model, not a generic one.
The schema is read first, so a question that spans two of these is one question, not two lookups.
“Summarise everything the client sent since Monday and flag what still needs a reply”
“What does next week look like once the recurring meetings are expanded out”
“Add this week's supplier invoices as rows in the finance workbook on SharePoint”
“What was decided in the engineering channel about the release date”
Writes to Microsoft 365 wait for you.
The same three guardrails hold on every template. They are attached to the action itself, so they hold on every path. Watch the replay →
- 01
The plan is held
A plan that writes to a real system stops before it starts. You see the goal, the risk and every step, then confirm or reject.
- 02
Each write asks first
A tool marked ask-first shows the exact call with its values. Confirm it, edit the values, or reject it. Nothing runs until you decide.
- 03
A rejection is an instruction
Pick a reason and add a line. The copilot re-plans with what you told it instead of guessing.
Microsoft 365 questions.
Which Microsoft accounts can connect?
Sign-in goes through the common Entra ID endpoint, so a work or school Microsoft 365 account connects in the usual way. Permissions are delegated, meaning hivein sees only what the person signing in can already see.
Does reading a workbook change the file?
Reading a range or a worksheet's used area is a read and leaves the file untouched. Writes go through the Excel APIs in Graph to the workbook as it sits in OneDrive or SharePoint, so a change lands for everyone with access to that file.
How does it handle SharePoint list columns?
SharePoint separates the display name of a column from its internal name, and writes have to use the internal one. The list definition is fetched before a row is created or updated, so values land in the right field instead of being rejected.
