hivein for Notion

Query a Notion database, write the answer back as a page, and keep the property types correct.

Notion's public OAuth 2.0 integration flow, then REST calls to api.notion.com/v1 reaching only the pages and databases shared with the integration.

What it does

Your Notion, as actions the copilot can take.

Query a database properly

A database is read through its own filters, sorts and pagination rather than by scanning pages one at a time. Its schema is fetched first, so property names and types are known before anything is filtered on or written, and a new database can be created inside a page.

Create pages and database rows

A page is created under another page or as a row in a database, either from plain text or from full block JSON. Typed property values — select, date, number, checkbox, relation — are written in the shape the database defines.

Write real content blocks

Paragraphs, headings, bulleted lists, to-do checkboxes and code blocks are appended as native Notion blocks rather than pasted in as one long paragraph. An existing block's text can be updated in place, or the block deleted.

Read a page as its blocks

Page content comes back as the block children, each with its own id, type and text. That structure is what lets a long page be summarised, a single paragraph rewritten, or a checklist read item by item.

Search and tidy the workspace

Search runs across everything shared with the integration and can be narrowed to pages only or databases only. Deletion is Notion's own archive, so a page removed by mistake can be restored rather than recreated.

What it knows

It reads your Notion data model, not a generic one.

The schema is read first, so a question that spans two of these is one question, not two lookups.

Ask it on day one
  • “Which tasks in the roadmap database are still open and past their due date”

  • “Add a row to the meeting notes database with today's date and who attended”

  • “Turn these decisions into a to-do list at the bottom of the sprint retro page”

  • “Find every page that mentions the pricing change and tell me what it says”

Guardrails

Writes to Notion wait for you.

The same three guardrails hold on every template. They are attached to the action itself, so they hold on every path. Watch the replay →

  1. 01

    The plan is held

A plan that writes to a real system stops before it starts. You see the goal, the risk and every step, then confirm or reject.

  2. 02

    Each write asks first

A tool marked ask-first shows the exact call with its values. Confirm it, edit the values, or reject it. Nothing runs until you decide.

  3. 03

    A rejection is an instruction

Pick a reason and add a line. The copilot re-plans with what you told it instead of guessing.

FAQ

Notion questions.

Why can hivein not see one of my pages?

A Notion integration only reaches what has been explicitly shared with it, which is a deliberate part of Notion's permission model. Share the page or database with the connection from inside Notion and it shows up in search on the next request.

Does it understand my database properties?

Yes — the schema comes back first, listing every property with its type and, for a select, the options it allows. Values are then built in the shape Notion expects for a date, a number, a checkbox or a relation, and a property the database does not define is never invented to force a write through.

What happens when a page is deleted?

Pages are archived, which is Notion's own soft delete — the page moves to trash and keeps its content. An archived page can be restored later, so a wrong delete is recoverable without rebuilding it.
