hivein for Shopify

Ask about orders, stock and customers in your store; catalogue and fulfilment edits wait for confirmation.

hivein connects through Shopify's OAuth 2.0 app install flow and calls the Admin REST API on your own shop domain, passing the granted token as X-Shopify-Access-Token.

What it does

Your Shopify, as actions the copilot can take.

Work the catalogue and its variants

List, search and count Products, then list one product's Variants and edit any of them — price, compare-at price, SKU, barcode and weight. Product create, update and delete are all present, and all three are writes.

Look up and settle orders

Fetch an Order by id, count orders by financial or fulfilment status, and edit its note, tags or contact email. Cancelling takes a Shopify reason code — customer, fraud, inventory, declined or other — plus whether to restock and whether to email.

Ship with tracking

Create a Fulfillment against an order, naming the tracking number, the carrier and the location it ships from, with customer notification on by default. Passing only some line items fulfils an order partially instead of all at once.

Read and correct stock per location

InventoryLevel in Shopify is one row per inventory item per Location, so hivein reads your locations first and then the available count at each. Corrections go either as a delta or as an absolute figure after a stock take.

Quote, discount and follow customers up

Search Customers, pull one customer's whole order history, and raise a DraftOrder that comes back with an invoice URL you can send. Discounts are created as a Shopify price rule — percentage or fixed amount, its start and end dates, and its usage limit.

What it knows

It reads your Shopify data model, not a generic one.

The schema is read first, so a question that spans two of these is one question, not two lookups.

Ask it on day one
  • “Which orders from last week are still unfulfilled and where are they shipping to”

  • “How many units of this SKU are left at each location”

  • “Set up a 15 per cent off price rule that runs to the end of the month”

  • “Which customers have placed more than three orders this year”

Guardrails

Writes to Shopify wait for you.

The same three guardrails hold on every template. They are attached to the action itself, so they hold on every path. Watch the replay →

  1. 01

    The plan is held

A plan that writes to a real system stops before it starts. You see the goal, the risk and every step, then confirm or reject.

  2. 02

    Each write asks first

A tool marked ask-first shows the exact call with its values. Confirm it, edit the values, or reject it. Nothing runs until you decide.

  3. 03

    A rejection is an instruction

Pick a reason and add a line. The copilot re-plans with what you told it instead of guessing.

FAQ

Shopify questions.

Does this use the Admin REST API or GraphQL?

The Admin REST API, on a pinned version. Products, orders, customers, inventory levels, locations, price rules and draft orders are all covered there, which is the surface the connector maps operation by operation.

Why does a question about a large catalogue take a moment?

Shopify meters the Admin API with a leaky bucket, and the connector deliberately paces itself to stay inside that budget. A question spanning thousands of products is answered by paging through them rather than one enormous pull.

Can it change stock levels, and which way is safer?

It can do both: a relative adjustment or an absolute set at a given location. The delta is the safer choice while staff are still selling, because an absolute figure overwrites whatever sold between your stock count and the write. Either way hivein confirms before it fires.
