hivein for Strapi

Ask about your own Strapi content types — entries, components, locales — without learning the query syntax.

hivein will use a Strapi API token against your instance's REST endpoints, or the GraphQL plugin where you have it enabled, with the read-only, full-access or custom permissions you give that token.

What it does

What the Strapi connector will do.

Learn your model before answering

No two Strapi projects share a data model. Where the GraphQL plugin is enabled the schema will be introspected; otherwise the field, relation and component names come from the entries your token can actually read, never from an assumed model.

Build the query so you do not have to

Strapi answers depend on getting filters, sort, pagination and populate right. Those parameters will be assembled for you, including the populate that nested relations and media need to come back at all.

Create and update entries with structure intact

Write entries that include repeatable components and dynamic zone blocks in the right order, rather than flattening everything into plain text fields.

Respect draft, published and locale

Strapi keeps draft and published versions and, with internationalisation on, a separate variant per locale. An answer will name which version and which locale it came from.

Reach the media library

Look up uploaded files by name, type or size, upload a new one straight onto an entry's media field, and attach an existing asset by setting that field to the file's id.

What it knows

It will read your Strapi data model, not a generic one.

The schema is read first, so a question that spans two of these is one question, not two lookups.

What it will answer
  • “Which articles in the French locale are still in draft”

  • “Add a new question to the FAQ dynamic zone on the pricing page”

  • “List every product entry that has no cover image set”

  • “What content types have a relation to the author collection and how many entries does each hold”

FAQ

Strapi questions.

My content types are completely custom. How can an assistant know what they mean?

It works from what your instance actually returns — your own field, relation and component names, plus the GraphQL schema where that plugin is enabled — rather than a model it assumed. The vocabulary stays yours.

REST or GraphQL?

REST is the baseline, since every Strapi instance exposes it. If you have the GraphQL plugin installed, that surface can be used too, which helps when a question needs deeply nested relations in one round trip.

How much can the token see?

Exactly what you allow. A Strapi API token can be read-only, full access, or custom with per-content-type actions ticked one at a time, so you can start with read access and widen it once you are comfortable with the writes.
